Spring break 2027 is Monday, April 5, to Friday, April 9, for both of Bowling Green’s school districts. Bowling Green Independent Schools (BGISD) and Warren County Public Schools (WCPS) line up again this year, according to the BGISD 2026-27 calendar and the WCPS 2026-27 calendar. Easter falls the Sunday before, on March 28.

Spring break camps

Bowling Green Parks and Recreation runs spring break day camps at two community centers. The 2026 camps, for comparison, ran Monday to Friday, April 6-10:

Both camps were for ages 6 to 13, with games, arts and crafts, music, dance and a field trip. Expect 2027 registration in mid-March; we will add the dates when the city posts them.

Things to do

  • Lost River Cave, 2818 Nashville Road: a 45-minute tour, a 20-minute guided walk along the river and a 25-minute boat ride into the cave, plus walking trails and the Nature Explore Playscape. The tours page lists hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; book on the tours page.
  • National Corvette Museum, 350 Corvette Drive: open seven days a week until 5 p.m., according to the visitors bureau, with a KidZone (Corvette Museum).
  • Historic RailPark and Train Museum, 401 Kentucky St.: open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from March 23, with real railcars to climb aboard. 270-745-7317 (RailPark).

What is open and closed

  • Russell Sims Aquatic Center: closed until Memorial Day weekend. In 2026 it opened Monday, May 25 (city calendar).
  • Beech Bend Park: closed for spring break; its 2026 season opened Friday, May 8, according to the park’s 2026 operating calendar.
  • Schools and district offices: closed to students all week. Check each district’s calendar for staff days.
